Short Biography

He graduated from the Faculty of Theology at Marmara University in 1998. He completed his master's degree with a thesis titled "Islâhât Thought in Kâtip Çelebi" in 2002, and his doctorate with a thesis titled "Fakh al-Din al-Râzi's Interpretation and Critique of Ibn Sina" in 2009. He worked as a teacher and administrator within the Ministry of National Education. Between 2010 and 2012, he served at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Theology, and from 2012 to 2014 at Yalova University Faculty of Theology. Since 2014, he has been working as a faculty member in the Philosophy Department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Istanbul Medeniyet University. He became an associate professor in 2017 and a professor in 2022. Altaş's research focuses on late-period Islamic thought in the context of Fakh al-Din al-Râzî and the relationships between theology and philosophy.
