Zeynep Yıldırım graduated from Boğaziçi University’s Department of History in 2013. Her dissertation, "The Age of Akbar: Statecraft and Political Ambitions (1556-1605)" at Sabancı University's Department of History, received her an MA degree in History. She is now pursuing her Ph.D. at École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, with a dissertation on Persian world histories from the 15th to 17th century, and working as a Research Assistant at Ibn Haldun University's Department of History. Her research interest concentrates on Early Modern Islamic Historiography, Gunpowder Empires, and Early Modern Islamic(ate) Intellectual History.
