Faruk Yaslıçimen received his BA in History and International Relations from Istanbul Bilgi University in 2004. He continued his graduate education at Bilkent University, Ankara, where he received his MA in History in 2008. Dr. Yaslıçimen earned his doctorate degree in the same field at Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich in 2016. His works focus on state – society relations in the late Ottoman Empire, especially non-Sunni Muslim communities. Dr. Yaslıçimen has taught history, historical methodology and advanced Ottoman-Turkish paleography courses. His areas of scholarly research and interest also cover issues such as politics, architecture, and cultural policies in Turkey. Dr. Yaslıçimen is also the Editor-in-Chief of Politics Today, a global news-analysis web portal.
