Dr. Ali Demirbas graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Law in 2004. He completed his master's degree in EU Law in 2007, defending his thesis titled Data Exclusivity in Pharmaceutical Drug Products at Marmara University European Union Institute. He completed his Ph.D. in private law in 2015 by defending his thesis titled The Protection of the Right Holder against the Infringements of His or Her Economic Rights in the Context of the Turkish Law Number 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works at Istanbul University Institute of Social Sciences. During his doctoral thesis, he conducted research at the Max-Planck-Institut für Innovation und Wettbewerb in Munich, Germany for nine months with the support of TUBITAK scholarship. He worked as a research assistant in the Civil Law Department of Beykent University Law Faculty and as a faculty member in the Civil Law Department of Fatih Sultan Mehmet University Law Faculty. Since 2017, he has been working as a faculty member at Ibn Haldun University, Faculty of Law, Department of Civil Law. He speaks English and German besides her native language Turkish. He has several books, articles, and presentations in the field of private law.
