Hayrettin Kurt completed his undergraduate education at Ankara University Faculty of Law and his master's and doctoral programs at Kırıkkale University. He worked as a Maritime Expert at the Undersecretariat of Maritime Affairs, as Head of Department at the General Directorate of Foreign Relations and EU Affairs at the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, and as First Legal Advisor at the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. During this duty, he was appointed as a member of the Atomic Energy Commission at the Turkish Atomic Energy Authority. After serving as a member of the Energy Market Regulatory Board (EPDK) in 2018, he was appointed as the Chief Legal Counsel and General Manager of Prosecution of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance. He also continues his work as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board and the Chairman of the Legal Working Group in the World Energy Council Turkish National Committee (DEK-TMK). He was elected as a Member of the TCMB Supervisory Board in 2019, and was re-elected to the same position at the TCMB Ordinary General Assembly in 2021. In addition, KURT served as the Chairman of the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance between 2020-2022. He was appointed as the 2nd President of the Public Oversight Accounting and Auditing Standards Authority in 2022.
