Short Biography

He was born in Giresun Doğankent (1966). He graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Theology (1988). He completed his master's degree (1991), and obtained his doctorate (1997) in the Department of Islamic Law at the same university. In 2003 he attained the position of associate professor and in 2009 he was promoted to the rank of professor.

In 1993 he joined Sakarya University Faculty of Theology as a research assistant and has been serving as a faculty member since 1998 at the same university. Furthermore he held the position of dean at the Faculty of Theology for two terms (2011-2016).

He spent two years as a visiting faculty member at the Islamic Institute in Sofia, Bulgaria (1999-2001). He also served as a visiting faculty member at the Cyprus Social Sciences University (2018-2020). Currently in addition to his position at Sakarya University, he is also a visiting faculty member at Ibn Haldun University.

His scholarly and academic endeavors have been focused on Islamic Jurisprudence, with particular emphasis on family law, endowment law, halal food, bioethics, Islamic economics, and interest-free financial systems.

He has a significant body of published works in various formats, including theses, books, articles, conference papers, and encyclopedia entries.
