Short Biography

Melike Günyüz, who worked on Bursalı Talip Divan Edition Criticism as her master's thesis and Analysis of Ahmedi Divan as her doctoral thesis, started her career as an editor. She worked as editor, editor-in-chief, and CEO, respectively, in the publishing world. Melike Günyüz, a faculty member at Ibn Haldun University, Department of Comparative Literature, works in children's literature, publishing, and editing. She coordinates many national and international publishing and children's projects. Her children's books have been translated into over 20 languages from East to West. As the first female board member of MÜSİAD, one of the most essential NGOs of the Turkish business world, she has managed the publication process of many economic, cultural, and business reports that shaped Turkish political life. She is a member of IRSCL (International Research Society for Children's Literature); ÇGYD (Children's and Youth Publications Association); ChLA (Children's Literature Association); founding trustee member of KAİM Foundation, trustee member of Turkish Youth and Education Foundation (TÜRGEV), member of 15 July Association Advisory Board, Family Foundation Advisory Board, MUSIAD High Advisory Board. She served as the chairman of the board of directors of the Press and Publication Union Association for a period. Günyüz has held many national and international positions, especially in the field of publishing, such as coordinator of the International YATEDAM (Foreign Copyright Consultancy Centre) project, coordinator of the İSTKA Supported Istanbul Writing Centre project, member of the Advisory and Evaluation Board of the Ministry of Culture TEDA (Ministry of Culture and Tourism Turkish Culture, Art and Literature Works Support Project), member of TÜBİTAK Popular Science Publication Advisory Board, member of the 6th National Publication Congress Organizing Board, and Chairman of the Reading Culture Workshop. In 2022-2023, he served as the Minister Counsellor of the Ministry of National Education. He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Boğaziçi University, Department of Turkish Language and Literature. He completed his doctorate at Istanbul University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Old Turkish Literature.
