Merve Armağan Boğatekin obtained her doctoral degree in Applied Psychology and Prevention Science from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. In 2019, she completed her Master’s degree in Community Social Psychology at the same university as part of an integrated PhD scholarship. She graduated from Istanbul Şehir University, Department of Psychology (2016).

Previously, she worked as a researcher at institutions such as Stanford University Muslims and Mental Health Laboratory, Harvard University, Utrecht University and the United Nations (UNRWA).
