Short Biography
Nagehan Pakdamar Tüzgen received her doctoral degree in 2025 from the Doctoral Program in Educational Sciences at Boğaziçi University with her dissertation titled The Role of Adult Education in Refugee Communities: Experiences of Syrian Refugee Women. She completed her undergraduate studies with honors degree in the double major program of Early Childhood Education and Guidance and Psychological Counseling programs at Boğaziçi University. During her undergraduate education, she carried out internships and observation studies at distinguished educational institutions in Istanbul. She also actively took part in various social responsibility projects and non-governmental organizations that support equality in education. She completed her master’s degree in the Guidance and Psychological Counseling Program at Boğaziçi University with her thesis titled Psychological Needs During Pregnancy: A Qualitative Analysis of Introspection in New Mothers, and subsequently completed the non-thesis master’s program in Managing Educational Institutions program at Ibn Haldun University. She supported her academic studies by receiving language training at the University of California, Berkeley. Since 2017, she has been working at the School of Educational Sciences at Ibn Haldun University, and since 2022, she has been teaching undergraduate courses. Her academic interests include adult education, migration and education, women’s studies, and social justice in education. She is married and has three children.
