Short Biography

Born and raised in İskenderun, Turkey, Serdal completed  graduation from the Department of Philosophy at Bilkent University in Ankara. Serdal then pursued his Master's (2014) and Doctorate (2022) degrees at Middle East Technical University in Ankara. He was a Research Assistant at Middle East Technical University from 2013 to 2020. He is now an Assistant Professor at Ibn Haldun University.

Serdal’s research focuses primarily on contemporary naturalism, including the mind-brain and behavioral sciences. He also has a keen interest in the nature and origin of the differences among philosophical traditions such as pragmatism, continental philosophy, postmodernism, analytical philosophy, and naturalism. He has worked on Quine, Churchland, and Kuhn.  He currently focuses on scientism and its relationship with Quinean naturalism.
