Short Biography

Yavuz Atar graduated from the Faculty of Law of Ankara University in 1985 and started to work as a Research Assistant at Selçuk University in the same year. In 1990 he completed his doctorate. In this process, he conducted research on "Constitutional Change and Constitution Making" at Leicester University. He was awarded the title of associate professor in 1995 and professor in 2004. He has taught at the Law Faculty of Selçuk University for many years on Constitutional Law. He has held many administrative positions at the same university. Member of the Information and Evaluation Board of the Prime Ministry between 2005 and 2011, and member of the Board of Trustees of Kyrgyzstan Manas until 2011. He was a member of the Constitutional Science Commission established in 2007. Atar was appointed as a member of YÖK in 2010 and was appointed as the Vice President of the Council of Higher Education between 2014 and 2016. He was a member of the Constitutional Working Commissions established by the Presidency, the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Justice . In 2016. He worked as a lecturer at Sabahattin Zaim University in the period of 2016-2017. Yavuz Atar, currently serving as a lecturer at Ibn Khaldun University, is also serving as the President's Chief Advisor.
