Short Biography

Assoc. Prof. Yeliz Bozkurt Gümrükçüoğlu, was born in İstanbul in 1982 and received her bachelor’s degree at İstanbul Kültür University Faculty of Law with the second degree in faculty in 2005. She successfully defended her master’s thesis themed in “Ücretin Gününde Ödenmemesi Sebebiyle İş Görmekten Kaçınma Hakkı” (“The Right Of Employees to Avoid From Working in Result of Not Being Paid on Time”) in 2007. Starting the Private Law Doctorate Program at İstanbul Kültür University Institute of Social Sciences in the same year, Bozkurt Gümrükçüoğlu conducted research at Institut für Arbeitsrecht und Arbeitsbeziehungen in der EG-IAAEG in Trier, Germany for the doctoral thesis study with the Erasmus program for a year. Later, she completed her doctoral study “Türk İş Hukuku’nda Belirli Süreli İş Sözleşmesi” (“Fixed-Term Employment Contract in Turkish Labor Law”) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Turhan Esener. in 2012 and published it as a book. In 2014, she co-authored the book “Sendika Hukuku” (“Union Law”) with Prof. Dr. Turhan Esener She conducted research at the Labour Law and Social Security Law Institute in Freiburg, Germany for three months in the same year. Also, being a mediator registered to the Mediatior Register at Ministry of Justice Directorate General of Law Affairs Department of Mediation, Bozkurt Gümrükçüoğlu has several published articles, reviews of judgment, communiqués and translations on business law. She is married with a child and still acts as an associate in İbn Haldun University Faculty of Law.
